Fruit Cake, Kentucky Bourbon - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. butter, softened
    2 c. sugar
    6 eggs
    1/2 c. molasses
    4 c. flour
    1 heaping tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 lb. raisins
    1 c. chopped candied pineapple
    1 c. chopped candied cherries
    1 c. orange marmalade
    2 lb. chopped pecans
    1 c. bourbon
    apple slices
Preparation
    Cream the butter and sugar; add eggs one at a time.
    Combine dry ingredients together.
    Mix fruit, marmalade and nuts in a large bowl.
    Add 1 cup of dry ingredients to egg and sugar mix, alternating with bourbon.
    Stir in fruit mix.
    Bake in greased and papered 10-inch pan at 250\u00b0 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
    Cool.
    Wrap in cloth dampened with bourbon.
    Place in airtight container along with apple slices.
    Allow cake to ripen before cutting, about 1 month.
    Yields 8 pounds.
