Red Cabbage And Apples - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 medium onions, minced
1 c. seedless raisins
2 large apples, peeled and chopped
1 tsp. mixed pickling spice
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. margarine
3 to 4 lb. red cabbage
2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation

Saute onions in butter until lightly browned.
Add raisins, cabbage and apples.
Tie pickling spices in wet piece of cheesecloth.
Add to cabbage mixture.
Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook over low heat for about 45 minutes.
Mix sugar and vinegar; stir into cabbage.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove spice bag.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
