Ginger Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. molasses
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 3/4 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening well.
    Beat in molasses, eggs and vanilla.
    Gradually blend in dry ingredients which have been sifted together.
    Chill dough for 2 hours.
    Roll to 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured pastry canvas.
    Cut cookies with floured cutter.
    Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
