Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter (2 c.)
    1 lb. sugar (2 c.)
    4 c. flour
    6 medium eggs
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 lb. candied cherries
    1 lb. candied pineapple
    5 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter; add sugar gradually.
    Add beaten eggs.
    Sift flour with baking powder.
    Flour fruit and nuts with 1 cup flour. Add vanilla; fold in flour.
    Add nuts and fruit.
    Bake in slow oven (250\u00b0) for 2 1/2 hours or tested done.
