Smith Island Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks butter (soft)
    1/2 c. Crisco
    5 eggs, separated
    3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    3/4 c. evaporated milk (1 small can)
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Cream butter, Crisco and sugar until fluffy and light.
    Add egg yolks one at a time, then salt and vanilla.
    Mix well.
    Add flour one cup at a time alternately with milk and water mixture. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into greased and floured large tube pan.
    Place in a cold oven; turn to 325\u00b0.
    Bake 1 hour. Very moist and delicious!
