Ingredients

2 2/3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/3 c. molasses
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
Preparation

Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, salt and ginger.
In a separate bowl blend molasses, brown sugar, butter and eggs.
Stir dry ingredients into molasses mixture to form dough.
Chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Divide dough into 6 equal parts. Roll out each piece of dough to fit a 9-inch cake pan.
Bake in well-greased and floured pans at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
Makes six layers.
Cool layers before filling.
