Pumpkin Loaves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. unsifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 c. butter, softened
1 (1 lb.) can pumpkin (about 2 c. cooked)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. raisins (optional)
1 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation

Lightly grease two 9 x 4 x 3-inch loaf pans.
Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Sift flour with salt, baking powder, soda and spices.
Set aside.
In large bowl with electric mixer, beat sugar with butter just until blended.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Continue beating until very light and fluffy. Beat in pumpkin at low speed.
Beat in flour and spice mixture. Add raisins and nuts.
Turn batter into prepared pans.
Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until tested done.
Cool in pans 10 minutes.
Turn out onto wire rack.
Cool completely.
