Swedish Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    9 firm apples
    3 tsp. soda
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Pare and cut apples into 1/2-inch cubes.
    Add dry ingredients, apples and nuts; mix well.
    Bake in greased pan for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    May be served hot or cold.
