Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
2 c. applesauce
2 tsp. soda
4 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cloves
1 c. nuts (optional)

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add 1 egg at a time.
Add applesauce with 1 teaspoon soda mixed in it.
Mix in dry ingredients.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for one hour.
