Cherry Pound Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. almond flavoring
6 eggs
3 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. milk
1/2 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar together, beating well.
Add flavoring.
Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Add flour and milk alternately, mixing well. Fold in cherries last.
Pour into a large greased tube pan.
Place in cold oven. Bake at 275\u00b0 for 2 hours.
When still warm, top with frosting.
