Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1 Tbsp. water
1 c. diced apples
1 1/2 c. uncooked rolled oats
1 c. raisins
Preparation

Sift together the dry ingredients; add shortening, sugar, egg and water.
Beat until thoroughly mixed; stir in raw apples, oats and raisins.
Mixture will be stiff.
Make balls of dough, size of a large walnut and roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons of cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon sugar.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
To make drop cookies, add an extra egg.
