Black-Eyed Pea Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. bacon, diced
    2 c. chopped celery
    2 c. green pepper, chopped
    2 c. onion
    1 (10 oz.) can beef consomme
    2 cans tomatoes or stewed tomatoes
    2 (16 oz.) cans black-eyed peas
    1 can chopped mild chilies
Preparation
    Saute bacon with celery, green pepper and onion. Add consomme, tomatoes, peas and chilies.
    Simmer 30 to 40 minutes.
    Yields 6 to 8 servings.
