Double Boiler Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar or 1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1/3 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place first 4 ingredients over boiling water and beat with rotary beater until mixture stands in stiff peaks.
    Scrape bottom and sides of pan occasionally.
    Fold in vanilla.
    Frost as usually done.
