Quick Apple Strudel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. melted butter
    5 c. apples (about 7 to 8)
    1/2 c. light brown sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add milk to make soft dough.
    Add a little more milk, if necessary.
    Turn out onto floured board; knead gently for 2 minutes.
    Roll out 1/4-inch thick and brush with melted butter. Cover with apples; sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Roll up like jelly roll; form into semi-circle on a greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    While warm, frost with icing made of confectioners sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and a few drops of hot water.
