Squash Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. ground squash
    6 white onions, ground
    1/4 c. salt
    5 c. white sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. whole mustard seed
Preparation
    Mix squash, onions and salt.
    Cover with ice.
    Let stand 3 hours.
    Drain well.
    Heat other ingredients.
    Then add drained squash and onions.
    Bring to a boil.
    Put in hot jars and seal.
