Heavenly Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large white onions
    1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms or 2 small cans
    1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, shredded
    10 or more slices French bread, buttered on both sides
    1 can cream of chicken soup
    1/2 c. milk
    2 or 3 tsp. soy sauce
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Saute onions and mushrooms in butter.
    Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Prepare layers:
    mushrooms and onions, shredded Swiss cheese and French bread.
    Mix soup, milk and soy sauce.
    Pour over all. Make a day ahead and refrigerate.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes, uncovered.
