Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. hot applesauce
1 3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg, ground allspice and ground cloves
4 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 c. lukewarm water
1 lb. seedless raisins, dipped in flour to keep separated
1/4 lb. chopped pecans
3 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Add shortening to pan of hot applesauce until it dissolves. Remove from stove.
Add soda dissolved in water to mixture.
Add remaining ingredients.
Stir slowly by hand until ingredients are well mixed.
Add flour.
Place in a tube pan that has been well-greased and floured.
Bake for 1 1/4 hours at 350\u00b0.
