Mom'S Pineapple Angel Food Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. crushed pineapple
    1 c. cold water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 egg whites, beaten
    1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine pineapple, water and salt; bring to boil. In bowl combine sugar and cornstarch; add to pineapple mixture. Cook until thickened; let cool.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Pour into pie shell.
    Chill before serving.
