Fred Harvey'S Cole Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    medium head cabbage
    1 small onion
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1/2 c. peanut oil
    1/2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Shred cabbage and onion; cover with the 1/2 cup sugar.
    Bring to a boil the 1 teaspoon sugar, salt, mustard, celery seed, peanut oil and vinegar.
    Cool slightly and pour over shredded cabbage and onion.
    Let stand at least 4 hours before serving.
    Good for 4 to 5 days.
