Ingredients

2 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
flour (approximately 5 to 5 1/2 c.)
Preparation

Pour water in large bowl. Add yeast and sugar. Add salt, then add flour a little at a time and mix until smooth. Knead dough, then shape into a ball and place in a greased bowl. Grease top of dough and put wax paper or plastic wrap on top. Let rise until double, then punch down and divide into 2 balls. Let stand 5 minutes. Grease hands and shape dough into long slender loaves. Place on greased sheet. Cut diagonal slits on top. Let rise 1 hour. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
