Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    1 onion
    6 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    8 oz. American cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 c. dry bread crumbs
Preparation
    Shred cabbage; boil until tender and drain.
    Saute onion in 5 tablespoons butter until tender.
    Add undiluted soup.
    Mix well. Add cheese; heat and stir until melted.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in cabbage, salt and pepper.
    Transfer to a 2-quart baking dish. Melt remaining butter; stir bread crumbs into butter.
    Sprinkle over casserole.
    Bake uncovered at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
