Prune Lunch Box Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cut up pitted prunes
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts)
    1 c. hot liquid from prunes
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. each cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Cook prunes in water to cover; simmer prunes for 5 minutes. Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add prune mixture and remaining ingredients.
    Blend thoroughly 1 minute.
    Pour into greased and floured pan (8 1/2 x 13 1/2 x 2-inch).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
    Cool; cut into bars.
