Italian Pork Chops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    6 loin pork chops
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1 c. water
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. garlic salt
    salt and pepper to taste
    5 medium potatoes, quartered
    grated Romano cheese
Preparation
    Melt shortening in large skillet.
    Add pork chops and brown quickly on both sides.
    Remove chops and drain all but 2 tablespoons fat.
    Cook onion and green pepper until soft.
    Ad tomato sauce, water, sugar and seasonings.
    Heat to boiling and cook for 5 minutes.
    Arrange potatoes in 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Place pork chops on top of potatoes and pour sauce over all. Cover casserole with lid or foil and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour. Remove cover and sprinkle with cheese.
    Bake 15 minutes more.
