Beef And Beer Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. cooked beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
    3 large onions, peeled and quartered
    8 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    3 Tbsp. tomato paste
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    10 oz. can beef consomme or beef stock
    12 oz. can beer
    noodles or rice, cooked
Preparation
    Melt butter in large saucepot or Dutch oven.
    Add onions and cook 5 minutes to brown slightly.
    Add carrots, herbs and garlic. Continue to cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
    Stir in flour, tomato paste, consomme and beer.
    Add cooked meat and cover. Simmer 1/2 hour or until carrots are tender.
    Serves 6.
