Meringue Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1 c. sugar
    1 pkg. dates
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. coconut (optional)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites stiff; add sugar.
    Fold in the floured dates, nuts, vanilla and coconut (if using it). Drop on cookie sheet covered with wax paper, using a teaspoon. Bake at 325\u00b0 until delicately browned.
    The coconut makes the cookie quite moist and it adds flavor, but it is not necessary to make a good cookie.
