Jamaica Whelk Fritters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. flour, sifted
    1 large egg, slightly beaten
    2/3 c. milk
    1 small onion, minced
    1 small green pepper, chopped
    1 medium tomato, chopped
    1 lb. blade steak (strips)
    salt and pepper
    oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Sift flour and salt.
    Make a well in center.
    Add beaten egg and 1/2 the milk.
    Blend well and gradually add the rest of the milk, onion, pepper and tomato.
    Blend and let batter rest for 1/2 hour.
