Betsy'S Apple Deep Dish - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lbs. wine sap apple, or pie apples, sliced and tossed with juice of one lemon
1 T. cornstarch
1/2 c. white sugar
1/4 t. cinnamon
1/8 t. nutmeg
1 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
pinch salt
6 T. soft cubed butter
Preparation

Add apples to first mixture and toss.
Arrange apples and sugar and spices in 1-1/2 qt. baking dish.
Then mix second mixtures with fingertips until crumbly then toss on top of apples. Bake 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
1/4 c. sliced toasted almonds may be tossed on top about 15 minutes before baking is complete.
