Brown Sugar Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. soft shortening
    2 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. buttermilk or water
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Mix shortening, sugar and eggs thoroughly.
    Stir in milk. Blend flour, soda, salt; stir into mixture.
    Add nuts.
    Chill dough at least 1 hour.
    Drop rounded teaspoons about 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched lightly with finger.
    Makes about 5 dozen.
