Crabapple Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

10 lb. crisp juicy crabapples
15 c. sugar
5 c. cider vinegar
5 c. water
1 Tbsp. whole cloves
2 tsp. cassia buds (optional)
1 stick cinnamon
Preparation
-
Wash crabapples; do not remove stems.
Pickle crabapples as soon as possible after picking before they become mellow.
Make a syrup by boiling remaining ingredients for 3 minutes.
