Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans minced clams (use liquid)
    1 large chopped onion
    2 finely chopped celery stalks
    salt and pepper
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 lb. salt pork (try out) or 1/4 lb. bacon
    3 small potatoes, cubed
Preparation
    Boil potatoes separately; use potato water (2 cups).
    Saute onion and celery in salt pork drippings before adding to rest of ingredients.
    May add 1 can tomato soup.
    Simmer and serve. Garnish with chopped parsley.
