Lucy'S Special Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. bulk pork sausage
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped onions
    1/2 c. slivered almonds, toasted
    1 1/2 c. raw rice
    2 (12 1/2 oz. each) cans chicken broth
Preparation
    Brown sausage; drain well.
    Reserve 1/4 cup of fat.
    Cook celery, green pepper and onions in reserved fat.
    (Do not overcook!)
    Put sausage, vegetables and almonds into a 3-quart baking dish.
    Add rice and broth; mix well.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until liquid is completely absorbed (1 1/2 to 2 hours).
    If you like your rice softer, you might add more chicken broth and cook a little longer.
    Delicious with congealed salad and green vegetables.
