Pecan Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 egg, separated
    2-1/2 cups plain flour
    1 c. sugar plus 1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolk.
    Sift flour, nutmeg and cinnamon together.
    Gradually add to butter mixture.
    Pat the dough into a well greased oblong pan.
    Add 1 teaspoon sugar to beaten egg white and brush on top of dough.
    Add pecans and press in.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until light brown.
    Let cool slightly.
    Cut into 1 x 2 inch sticks while still warm.
