Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 qt. chopped cabbage
    12 medium cucumbers
    8 to 10 small onions
    12 green tomatoes
    12 sweet peppers (red and green)
    sugar
    vinegar
    turmeric
Preparation
    Chop all vegetables; set aside.
    Place sugar and vinegar (use equal amounts, 1 cup sugar to 1 cup vinegar) in large kettle. Bring to boil.
    Add turmeric (1 teaspoon).
    Add chopped vegetables.
    Make sure you mix enough sugar and vinegar to cover vegetables.
    Bring back to rolling boil.
    Pack in jars and seal. Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes.
    Cool.
    Good with soup beans.
