My Meatless Pasta Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (28 oz.) can pastene kitchen ready tomatoes
    1/2 c. onion, chopped fine
    1/2 c. green pepper, chopped fine
    1/2 c. celery, chopped fine
    1/2 c. carrot, chopped fine
    1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces
    1/4 tsp. fennel
    1 tsp. dried parsley
    1/2 tsp. basil
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    salt to taste
Preparation
    In a large saucepan or kettle, put the kitchen ready tomatoes. Add onion, green pepper, celery, carrot, mushrooms, fennel, dried parsley, basil and sugar.
    Add 1 of the tomato cans of water. Bring to a boil.
    Turn down to simmer and cook down to desired thickness.
