Jalapeno Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. self-rising cornmeal
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 Tbsp. jalapeno pepper, chopped fine
    1/2 c. oil
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 (8 oz.) can creamed corn
    3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Mix well.
    Preheat oven to 450\u00b0.
    Place 3 tablespoons shortening in 9-inch black skillet.
    When grease is hot, dust with thin layer of cornmeal on bottom and sides of skillet.
    Pour in batter and cook until done.
    Brown top with broiler.
    Cooks in about 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cornbread needs to go through sweat, so turn bread out of pan when it comes out of the oven.
    Put bread back into skillet, bottom side up.
    Let sit and cool.
    Can be cooked in black 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
