Kate Houston'S Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. cornmeal
3 Tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. shortening or bacon drippings
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
Preparation

In a bowl mix all dry ingredients. Add milk and egg. Melt the drippings or shortening in a skillet or baking pan. Add to the batter and pour in a hot skillet that is well-greased.
Bake at 450\u00b0 about 20 to 25 minutes.
