Ropats' Tavern Corned Beef And Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 brisket corned beef (4 to 5 lb.)
    3 medium onions, cut in wedges
    2 bay leaves
    1/2 tsp. whole cloves
    6 peppercorns
    2 cloves garlic
    2 stalks celery with leaves
    3 cans (12 oz.) beer
    water to cover beef (just barely)
Preparation
    Take ingredients and place in large pot.
    Cover; slightly simmer 4 to 5 hours until tender.
    Remove meat from liquid.
    Keep warm.
    Skim fat from liquid.
    Add 6 medium potatoes, pared and 6 small carrots.
    Cover.
    Bring to a boil.
    Cook 10 minutes.
    Add 6 cabbage wedges and cook 20 minutes longer.
    Serves 6.
