Pear-Apple Preserves (Pearable) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 qt. pearables (cross between a pear and apple trees)
    1 1/2 c. water
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    6 slices lemon
Preparation
    Pare fruit and mix with sugar and lemon.
    Cook slowly until syrupy and thick.
    (Fruit should be clear and tender.)
    Cool and pack in jars and seal.
