Saint Andrew'S Night Shortbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar (varied as low as 1/2 c.)
1/2 lb. butter or oleo (or 1 stick of each)
1 lb. flour (about 2 c., more or less)
Preparation

Cream the sugar and butter at room temperature with hands until smooth.
Add flour, kneading and blend until dough comes away from sides of bowl.
Press out with fingertips on ungreased, floured cookie sheet.
Prick with fork.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven about 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool, but cut in squares while still hot.
