Beef Mushroom Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
    5 Tbsp. flour
    1 can beef broth
    1 thick slice onion
    2 small bay leaves
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 c. half and half
Preparation
    Heat butter in pan and saute mushrooms until light brown. Strain out mushrooms and set aside.
    Heat cooking liquid; add flour and cook until thick.
    Gradually stir in broth until blended.
    Add onion, bay, basil, salt and pepper.
    Cook until thickened.
    Turn down heat and add half and half.
    Cook on low for 15 minutes.
    Strain.
    Add mushrooms to broth.
    Heat and serve.
