Sopaipillas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. unsifted flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    2/3 c. water
    vegetable oil
    confectioners sugar
    ground cinnamon
Preparation
    In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder and salt. With pastry blender, cut shortening into flour mixture until coarse crumbs form.
    Sprinkle water over flour mixture, one tablespoon at a time, mixing lightly after each addition.
    Stir until mixture forms a ball.
    Knead until smooth, about 3 minutes. Roll half dough into a 12 x 9-inch rectangle.
    Cut into 12 (3 x 3-inch) squares.
    Heat 1 1/2 inches of oil to 400\u00b0.
    Fry squares, turning with slotted spoon.
    Cook until golden brown.
    Drain. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and drizzle with honey.
    Repeat with remaining dough.
