My 5 Pound Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    2/3 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 lb. butter (not margarine)
    2 c. milk (canned milk is better)
    3 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix butter, sugar, milk and Karo.
    Bring to boil, stirring constantly until it forms a hard ball in cold water or use candy thermometer.
    Then beat as long as possible, adding vanilla and nuts before pouring onto a greased cookie sheet or pan.
    Cool and cut.
    Immediately hide it or you may only have a pound or less left.
