Crackling Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. corn meal
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. cracklins
Preparation
    Sift meal, baking powder and salt together.
    Pour enough hot water to make a stiff dough.
    Add cracklins (boil cracklins to soften them, optional).
    Mold into oval shapes (pones) and bake at 425\u00b0 until brown.
