Old Timer Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. molasses or brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    2 to 3 c. flour
    1 jar apple butter
    8 oz. applesauce
Preparation
    Mix eggs, molasses, milk and spices together.
    In a pan of self-rising flour, work in shortening, then add combined ingredients.
    Roll out thin and cut with pie pan.
    Makes 14 to 16 layers.
    Cook at 400\u00b0 until brown.
