English Toffee Candy - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. butter
1 lb. or 2 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. chocolate coating
1/2 lb. finely ground nuts
Preparation

Put sugar in skillet first, then add butter cut in cubes and salt.
Coat well with sugar.
Turn to high, stirring constantly. When well blended with sugar, turn to medium and cook until mixture is deep amber in color.
Keep mixture from sides of pan so it won't burn or get too dark.
Pour into greased cookie sheet. When cool, brush with melted chocolate and sprinkle with nuts. Press nuts firmly into chocolate.
Repeat on other side when chocolate is hardened.
When all is hardened, break in pieces.
