Christmas Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    1 lb. confectioners sugar
    5 eggs, room temperature
    2 c. walnuts, coarsely chopped
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 (12 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
    3 c. flour
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs one at a time.
    Add flour and vanilla.
    Blend well.
    Fold in nuts and cherries.
    (Roll cherries in flour first to avoid sinking.)
    Pour into a greased and floured tube pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes, then lower to 325\u00b0 and bake one hour.
