Red Beans With Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dried kidney beans
    1 3/4 qt. water (to cover)
    1 chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. thyme
    2/3 of 8 oz. tomato sauce
    1 meaty ham bone or 2 c. diced ham
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    1 tsp. black pepper
    dash of Tabasco
    1 to 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    seasoned salt to taste
Preparation
    Soak beans overnight in water.
    Drain in morning.
    Cook beans and ham in water for 1 hour.
    Then add all ingredients except seasoned salt.
    Cook another 1 1/2 hours.
    Cook 1 hour.
    Reheat, simmer 1 hour and add seasoned salt to taste.
    Serve over cooked rice.
    Great with cornbread.
    Serves 8.
