Ingredients

8 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
8 tsp. baking powder
2 2/3 c. shortening
2 2/3 c. sugar
8 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar together; beat until light and fluffy. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time. Mixture should look like pale-yellow whipped cream. Add dry ingredients and vanilla to mixture. Put bowl of cookie dough into refrigerator. Chill at least 2 hours. Set oven at 375\u00b0; bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are a nice light brown color.
