Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    4 chocolate squares
    3 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt shortening with chocolate in saucepan. Combine sugar and eggs.
    Beat well.
    Stir in melted chocolate mixture.
    Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add vanilla and nuts. Spread in greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
