Crumb Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sour or buttermilk
1 c. chopped nuts

Preparation

Set oven to 350\u00b0.
Mix the first 3 ingredients together.
Save 1/2 cup of this mixture to sprinkle on cake before baking.
Add remaining ingredients.
Pour into greased loaf pan.
Top with mixture.
Bake 35 minutes.
